"If the Lord cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance, how can He love me after what I've done?"

Elder Curtis had repented of his pornography addiction, hadn't he? After all, he'd stayed clear of it for six months before his mission interviews so that he could tell his leaders he was worthy. So why was he still feeling so guilty after all these months?

In this easy-to-follow integration of doctrine and fiction, a wise mission president helps Elder Curtis realize the depth of his sin and that he simply has not completed the steps of repentance. Through the encouraging words of current General Authorities and prophets of old, the mission president then leads Elder Curtis step-by-step through the repentance process. The young missionary eventually learns that he must experience godly sorrow in order to truly repent, and only then can he understand the glorious truth that the Lord still loves him.

Use Chosen as a guide to lead you or your loved one step-by-step through the repentance process and you too will come to see that the Lord is with you - every step of the way.

It was fun to read a fictional but true-to-life story about coming unto Christ. 'Seeing' someone go through the process of receiving 'a change of heart' made it so understandable and reachable. Although the main characters are male, any LDS woman could identify with the feelings portrayed, whether she is helping a loved one gain victory over an addiction, or suffering through her own personal adversity or discouragement.

—Wendi Anderson, former Relief Society President and member of a stake Relief Society presidency

Many of the individuals I see in counseling feel that forgiveness is out of reach. In Chosen, master teacher Steven Cramer gently guides the reader back to the heart of the Gospel's good news: that every one of us can - and must - look to Jesus to overcome the effects of sin. I'm confident that this book will bring a refreshing perspective and much needed guidance to many of my clients in the years to come.
